"The Screaming Jeans catchy, brit pop sounding tunes have translated into some energetic performances"
- buffaBLOG (Mar 11, 2011)

"See You There"

"The Screaming Jeans have an amazing chemistry on stage, combined with highly listenable, alt-rock tingled tunes like "Hello Hello" and "She Wants It All.""
- - Jon Wheelock, Artvoice (Jul 21, 2011)

"I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For The Screaming Jeans"

"The pop/alt rock band from Western New York formed about a year ago and instantly began making music that sounds a little bit like Kings of Leon and a little bit like U2 with a touch of Radiohead. Their hit song “Hello Hello” balances heavy guitars with lead singer Scott Nykiel’s unique voice – an almost raspy, Caleb Followill-esque wail that hits every note. Basically, all their songs should make their way onto your iPod if you like any kind of rock music. "
- - Avery Hartmans, buffalo.com (Aug 04, 2011)

"EP Review"

"This quick 5 song EP is but a taste of great things to come from The Screaming Jeans, they have a solid base, great lyrics, expressive vocals and explosive melodies."
- - Greg Jackson, UpstateLive (Sep 01, 2011)

Bio

The Screaming Jeans are an indie pop/alt rock band from Buffalo NY. They draw their primary influences from bands like U2, The Smiths, The Strokes, The Killers, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver, and Radiohead. In the spring of 2010 singer-songwriter Scott Nykiel met guitarist Gandi Rizek and started writing music. They performed their music at open mics and small gigs at coffee houses and restaurants under the name The Hero & The Thief.

While doing that, they met drummer Avi Altman at an open mic. There he asked to jump on kit while they played and the rest is history. The three continued to play the open mic scene in Buffalo, adopting the name The Screaming Jeans. After months of searching for the right bass player, in the late fall of 2010 they met multi instrumentalist Joel Russell at another open mic. As a fan of the band he asked if he can audition. Granted bass wasn't his primary instrument, they gave him a shot and he did not disappoint. The Screaming Jeans together over time have developed great musical chemistry and comradery amongst one another and it shows in their live shows. Their high energy performances has started to become a trademark staple of what is to be expected when they play live.

In January 2011 they played their debut show at The Tudor Lounge & they haven't slowed down since. In February 2011 The Screaming Jeans were voted to play at the quarter finals for Artvoice's Boom contest at Nietzche's. They did not proceed past that point, but the gig helped propel them to being one of the most buzzed about new bands in Buffalo. Throughout the winter and spring of 2011 they recorded their debut self titled EP at Session's Studio's with veteran engineer Chuck Madden. Mastered at True Sound Studio's it was released at an EP release show at Mohawk Place in April 2011. Since then they have played at many local bars and music venues throughout Buffalo and WNY including Mohawk Place, Mister Goodbar, Nietzches, The Bug Jar, and more. They've also played a variety of summer festivals including The Infringement Festival, The Elmwood Ave Festival of the Arts and Overgrown Music Festival.

They are currently recording their second EP with producer Matt Reilly with hopes for a summer release. Their debut self titled EP, The Screaming Jeans is available on ITUNES, amazon.com, rhapsody, Napster and more. Stay tuned!
