Bio

The Scribbles want you to know that "Robots are Taking over the World," "You Can't Hide from the Monsters in Your Closet," and above all else, "It's OK to be Different." Three friends who share a passion for music, Olivia Bacon, Joe Misterovich, and Connor Mitchell write all of their own songs and play instruments from another era, like ukulele, melodica, tambourine, and glockenspiel. One part indie hipsters, one part vaudeville act, this trio of 12 year olds have charmed audiences in their hometown of Springfield, MO and across the Internet through YouTube and MySpace.

Imagine The Flaming Lips as 12 year olds and you start to get an idea of The Scribbles act. They have been mentored by their friends and local indie favorite Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. Their songs have been compared to Daniel Johnston and Bishop Allen. Their influences include The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Flaming Lips, Bjork, Sufjan Stevens, NeverShoutNever, Low, Jason Lytle, The Decemberists, B52's, PlayRadioPlay!, Radiohead, The Pogues, and Belle and Sebastian.
