These Arms Have A Purpose

These Arms Have a Purpose was formed as a collaborative effort in 2006. Chris Newhard is the founder of the project/band and is the only permanent member of the group. Chris has previously played in Offensive Relay and Never See Dawn, and is currently lead guitar and background vocals for JON EIRICH (myspace.com/joneirichmusic) and vocals for the newly formed SCARLET WILL (myspace.com/scarletwill).

Chris decided to pursue a more personal goal and began writing songs on a more personal self searching level. The songs chronicle life, death, love, hate, joy, and despair. In may 2007, Chris began recording his debut album, I CAN FEEL IT, in Holland, PA at the Sound Of Tragedy Studios, with engineer Eric Plescha (Valencia, Person L, Promise of Redemption, Triangle Shirt Factory). A year and a half later, the album was released independently on August 26th, 2008.

Live shows is where this band will get you, for the emotion and entertainment are equally powerful and enjoyable. the passion in the vocal performances blend in with the professional musicianship of the fellow players and create an experience like no other. TAHAP features various friends joing the stage with Chris, who feels that by non solidifying anyone, there is infinite possibility for growth as a band.
