In Diana Olson's review of Kurt Baumann:
"Kurt Baumann’s music carries us to a world where there are no finish lines and always something greater beyond..." - SKOPE

Quote from Jim Bredouw (Founder of LA Studios):

"It has always been difficult to find recording artists who don't imitate other recording artists they've heard -- one hour of listening to any radio station will bear witness to this, whether it's country, hip hop or rock.
"To find a young artist describing their own unique human experience, sung in their own voice, is even rarer because it takes years to develop an understanding of one's inner heart, the ability to convey it meaningfully and, finally, the courage to display it. So to find this humanity and fearlessness combined with an equally rare and beautiful voice is a treat indeed..."
- Island Sounder

"ABC Music Spotlight"

"We've discovered our new favorite artist." - ABC Family

In response to Baumann's work:

"This is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time! We are playing several tracks off the album."

MIKE MARRONE, Program Director, Sirius XM Loft/National

- Mike Marrone

The Burned:
"Where Are We Now"
"Make Believe"

Katie Gray - From Far Away:
"Set Free"
"From Far Away"

Kurt Baumann and Katie Gray are the mastermind players in this duet group. It was clear to mutual friend/producer Dik Darnell(John Denver, Earth, Wind and Fire) that the two singer-songwriters must meet, and upon the first day of their introduction in November of 2008, the two have been creating music together ever since.

Kurt has most recently launched “The Burned”, an album that consists of his solo work. Many of his songs are currently playing on AAA radio across the country and have already been featured on TV shows such as “Crash”, "Make It Or Break It" and "Gossip Girl". He is the former lead singer/creator of the group Kan'Nal, and also spent much of 2009 as the front man/vocalist for the electro-pop band,’Freeland’ (featuring the work of Grammy nominated DJ, Adam Freeland).

Katie has spent her performing career a solo act with her guitar, and has focused her energy on the richness of her voice and the art of songwriting. Songs from her album “From Far Away” have been featured on the FOX television show “Bones”, the ‘iTunes compilation of Spotlight Independent artists’ as well as various radio stations around the country, including LA’s KCRW and Seattle’s KEXP.
