Bio
Having been fascinated by North America from childhood, it was only natural that when he was all grown up (does anyone ever grow up?) he would write songs influenced by their music and culture, right? Well, hell yeah! The Sea Will Decide is the Americana, Alt.country project of one Czar Lee Nikolas Tucknott. He’s kinda shy, loves what he does and has an awesome moustache to boot. Sometimes he plays solo and sometimes with his band. Either way, his laid-back, rockin’ country songs will grab you by the proverbials. It’s lo-fi miserablist country at its finest.
He’s played an enviable list of shows with talented musicians and bands, both in the UK and in North America – some established and some up-and-coming. This list includes: Patty Hurst Shifter, Califone, Laura Gibson, Mia Riddle, Eugene McGuinness, Ben Calvert, James Harries, the Diamond Family Archive and Jane Bartholomew.
He’s recorded and about to release his first EP on his own ‘I See Ships Recordings’ label and is currently writing songs for his debut album, which goes into production in April. He’s currently playing a spattering of shows in his native Brighton, with his band of (not so) merry men and is always looking for more places to play.
