Bio
The Secondary began in early 2005 as a collaboration between engineering, business and psychology students from around the country at Illinois Institute of Technology. Nobody unanimously knew a song, so the focus was more in improvisation, ideation and creativity. These new songs were written next door to the Chicago White Sox as they went on to win the world series that year. The creative philosophy we carry makes The Secondary one of the most unique sounds of today.
"A mix of rock rhythms and hip hop swagger" -Andy Downing, The Chicago Tribune
Since 2005 The Secondary has won battles of the bands at Illinois Tech, and Northwestern University, opened for Reel Big Fish, road tripped down to University of Illinois and Columbus, Ohio. Covered much ground in the city of Chicago with gigs in multiple bars, clubs, cafe's, frat parties and even on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building overlooking the beautiful city. The Secondary has been interviewed for The Chicago Tribune, The Columbia Chronicle (Columbia College Chicago), and Tech News (Illinois Tech) building a buzz among college students, and young adults in the city.
