•Where based: Lehigh Valley

•When formed: 2008

•How band came together: Begun originally as a studio project in 2008, the Secret System originally aspired to be a recording outlet for original songs. About a year later, we wanted to take the project out of the studio and turn it into a full band. The search for the right guys took over a year and the lineup of Scott, Rich, Dave, Pook was solidified in early 2010.

•Our music in four words: Melodic, thought-provoking, progressive, dynamic

•Influences: Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to Rush and Black Sabbath.

•You'll enjoy us if you like ... classic rock with a modern and ambient edge

•Our best original song: "Remember" from our most recent release. It's a great example of a song that has an edge, but also contains strong melodic elements with a thoughtful message.

•Our best cover song: We only perform original music.

•Our latest CD: "Roadside Shrines" (released in 2010).

•Our audience: We have received a great response at every show. We have performed at a variety of Philly venues as well as some here in the Lehigh Valley.

•Biggest gig: Musikfest

•Our best moment: We were recently featured on Channel 69.

•Favorite venue to play: Funhouse in Bethlehem.

•Dream venue: a place like Penn's Peak.

•Funny moment: One time we were playing an outdoor show at night. We were playing and there were bugs flying all around us and crawling all over us. They flew into our mouths ... They were crawling across my glasses! Rich came over and squashed a couple of them on my head!

•Worst onstage screwup: starting the wrong songs and leaving a slide in the case off stage (and not remembering until the moment I needed it!) Forgetting to tune up or down for a particular song.

•Goal: To be a creative performing band respected in the region.

We have our secret system as a band, and you have your secret system as a human being, and they're both very unique — with illusive, intangible, and sometimes unimaginable philosophies, components, and thoughts that only the one, or many, who possess that particular secret system can truly know.

The Secret System is an all-original band from the Lehigh Valley that has developed quite a following for its unique blend of modern and classic rock.
The members of the group stopped by 69 News at Sunrise recently to tell us more about their music and to help us kick off the week with Music Monday. - WFMZ Channel 69

Darkly melodic, sharply harmonized, and occasionally new-agey, the music of the Secret System emanates as straightforward rock with a subtle, underlying charisma. The now quartet began as a duo in 2006, and picked up their final two members in December 2008. And while the Secret System is still a relative, well, secret- the band played its first gig in April- the band members are no stranger to the music scene; each has played in previous bands during the 80's, 90's, and early 00's. And while the band is working on getting further into the public eye, the Secret System has finished recording and is currently preparing the release of their first studio album.
