"Soundcheck WNYC"

"They're so much further ahead in every category than I was. In a way, the music sounds great and they have a really cool attitude about it and they know what they're doing, that's amazing." - Singer-songwriter Ben Folds - Soundcheck WNYC

"96.9/92.9 WEHM"

"Focusing on some of Long Island's best singer/songwriters and bands, featuring The Sectionals ... Sofia D'Angelo, Mick Golden, and Cyan Hunte who put together really their love of music." - Harry Wareing - 96.9/92.9 WEHM

"7eventytwo: A Music Blog"

"The Sectionals are a Nirvana-esque power-trio ... For a band that rocks so hard and puts on such a great show, you could almost miss how sophisticated their songs are. The Sectionals are very serious about rock and roll and have a preternatural intuitive grasp on how its done. We can all expect great things from them going forward ..." - 72

Still working on that hot first release.

Singer and guitarist Sofia D’Angelo, drummer Mick Golden and bassist Cyan Hunte were introduced to each other in fall of 2012 at a Lowell’s World Young Musician’s showcase in NYC when they were all just 13 years old. As soon as they started playing at their first rehearsal they felt a connection, both musically and personally. The three teenagers clicked and 3 months’ later did their first show opening for one of Lowell's bands at a bar on the Upper East Side in NYC. Even with technical malfunctions, they all shared the talent, confidence, and poise that commanded the stage in a way that impressed even the most jaded musicians in attendance.

Today, less than 4 years later, The Sectionals play their gigs at such established New York venues as The Bitter End, Tammany Hall, The Studio at Webster Hall and The Stephen Talkhouse, among others. The Sectionals shows are full of energy and consist of all original music with a cover or two thrown in for fun. The bands that they do cover, Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes, Green Day, The Beatles, etc. all reflect the music and artists that influence them.

The Sectionals are establishing a great local fan base and plan to continue their organic growth. From NYC to the Hamptons, their shows consistently draw a large and ever-growing crowd. They know that if they just keep gigging, whether in front of 50 people, 500 people or more, they will continue to get better and grow as musicians. They're in no rush; these three teenagers just want to share their music and put on shows that people enjoy.

The Sectionals self-titled EP is available on iTunes and Spotify. The band just released their new EP called "Self-Titled" which is available in iTunes, Spotify, and more.
