Biography

Remember T.I.F.T.? Well, we've got news for you: They have changed their name into The SelfEmployed! The same line up with a new name is back with a debut album and new single 'Lost'. After winning the prestigious Amsterdam pop award and writing material for their current release the band are ready to make a name for themselves within the music scene. With their new name that is.
.
The band's musical career started at the turn of the century when guitarist Paul Bos and singer/guitarist Jos van Geffen teamed up with two friends to play some shows with some original material and cover tunes. But the band really started taking shape when drummer Rory van der Graaf and bass player Daan van der Linden joined the group in 2003. Within the next years their set consisted only of original material and the cover tunes were gone.
.
To gain some name for themselves they entered THE band contest in Amsterdam and before they knew it they were in the finale in a sold out 'Melkweg' and won the prize. After their victory they played shows in Amsterdam's rock temple ‘Paradiso' and various summer festivals.
.
From there on the band were on a roll. New songs were written and recorded with the help of 'Moke' drummer/solo artist Rob Klerkx and the debut album was becoming a reality. Along with a new name for the group, an album title is found. Since everything happened so fast from the get-go the debut album is titled 'Highway Society'.
