"See Stars"

There is no one way to describe the Senate Arcade that resonates. Post-punk, indie rock, the genre doesn't matter, only the way the music feels. A gentle hum with lyrics that will make you see stars and a drone that will completely alter your musical landscape. - Heckler Magazine

"Tacoma Likes TSA"

Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to see one of your favorite bands when no one knew who they were? When they played at a local bar for peanuts to whoever would listen? If you answered yes, then do yourself a favor - see the Senate Arcade. - Volcano

"Indie rock is ready to ROCK"

The Senate Arcade featured three rowdy ones (Todd Schlosser on bass and vocals, Matt Terich on guitar, and Austin Hugill on drums), and they played so hard that after the first song, Austin had to put weights around his drumkit to keep it in place. Todd vocally screached his way through the songs, plowing his bass, and Matt positively lit that guitar, adding further validity to my theory that indie-rock is finally ready to ROCK. - threeimaginarygirls.com

Bio

The Senate Arcade is an anomaly. Beautifully propelling itself between the gaps of indie rock’s genres du jour, this three-piece from the Pacific Northwest turns out explosive, well-crafted rock songs. To describe TSA you can start with the sum of its parts: spidery, algebraic guitars, driving bass-lines, deafening and complex drum rhythms, powerful vocals, robotic synthesizers, and an inexplicable fascination with Patrick Swayze’s seminal film, Point Break. Pulling influences from all over the musical landscape, TSA’s blend of post-post-punk meets math-wave has been described as “uniquely their own,” but draws comparisons to bands like No Knife, Jawbox, At the Drive In, and Minus the Bear.

The band formed in 2002, when guitarist Matt Terich and drummer Austin Hugill ended their search for the missing piece by enlisting the help of vocalist/bassist Todd Schlosser. In 2003 they began playing shows regularly, steadily building a buzz with their unforgettable live performances. (Complete show history available at thesenatearcade.com)

With the release of their debut EP, Vitamins Taste Like Dying, in August 2003, the band continued to spark interest. The track On The Floor was featured in Microsoft Game Studios’ Project Gotham Racing 2 for xbox, the sequel to the best-selling console racing game. The song was also released on the PGR2 retail soundtrack in record stores nationwide. The songs I’m Going to Win and Theft Scenario can be heard in the wildly popular snowboard game Amped 2, also for xbox.

The Senate Arcade have toured the West coast of the US and have received college and commercial radio play from Seattle to San Diego, including 4 weeks in the top 30 on KCR radio in San Diego and a stunning 10 weeks on John Richards’ (John in the Morning) top 10 on KEXP, Seattle. Additionally, TSA has played live sets on KEXP, KGRG and KNDD (107.7 Seattle). Most recently the band was nominated “Best Indie Rock Band” by the Seattle Weekly, only to get beat out in a surprise upset by the obscure, little known Atlantic and Barsuk recording artist Death Cab for Cutie (featured on Fox’s The O.C. and MTV2.)

The Senate Arcade is currently in post-production on their first full-length album. The record, which is still untitled, was recorded and produced by The Senate Arcade and mixed by Seattle producer Matt Bayles (Murder City Devils, Pearl Jam, The Posies, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Screaming Trees, These Arms Are Snakes, Mastodon, Vendetta Red, Minus the Bear.)
