"The Serpent and the Apple"

The name alone draws attention to them, The Serpent and the Apple. How can you not pull an audience in with a band name like that? It's the forbidden fruit, the danger zone, evil vs. good. All the things that music can be in one song. This band knows how to put together a good song that sounds fresh and inviting. Thier alternative rock tracks not only invite you in, they make you stay. Much like the serpent temptiing Adam and Eve in the ancient story of giving in to the lure of another's suggestion to just have a taste, you will come back for another bite.

The Serpent and the Apple have everything going for them right now and if they can continue to record solid songs like the three you can listen to right now, watch out, they could be the next shooting star coming out of the alt rock scene.

Bio

Joanne Togati (Lead Vocals,Lyrics, Composition, Keys) and Eric Lemberg(Guitar,Production, Composition, Harmony,Keys) first started plotting their musical career in 2010 when they came together to work on Joanne's original material. They soon realized they had a knack for inspiring each other's creative sides and a new collective sound was born that was bleeding with pop infused melancholic angst. With melodic vocals that soar and that have been compared to Siouxsie Sioux, and many tracks that feature psychedlic guitar at a DnB tempo, the Serpent and the Apple are uniting the elements of electronic with some mean guitar, highlighted by the sweet yet powerful voice of the lead singer. The lyrics touch on subjects of altering one's perception and throwing light on both the dark and light sides of human nature, with a sex appeal to boot. Both members have vast musical backgrounds behind them. Joanne had been trained in musical theater, opera and jazz from the early age of ten, and Eric started playing guitar from around the same age and went on to master all the instruments one would find in a rock band, as well as having the ability to play anything by ear on the spot. They honed their sound and in 2011 put the band together. Josh Pikulin (bass) and Ray Belli (drums), both NYU graduates, gave the band their first legs in playing the local music scene in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Steadily gaining new fans through local music festivals, famed NYC clubs and VFW Halls, they continue to hone their sound and their craftmanship. They self financed their first EP, Heartless to the Cruel and have gained the support of artistic directors who are helping them get to that next level all future rockstars aspire to.
