"Inspired in part by the shimmer of Teenage Fanclub and the heaviness of Nirvana. This blend seems to have won them a few admirers, mohawk-haired Scottish music impresario Jim Gellatly among them. Now is a good chance as any to seize the day and say 'I was there' before their popular reference points elevate them to a bigger festival stage than the Tall Ships festival." Edinburgh Evening News
"Their own brand of early punk mixed with Stones’ swagger and Parson’s cool have earned them many plaudits....The Seven Deadly Sins are certainly on their way, by the way. A headline set here after great shows at Liquid Room and Cab Vol. Not to mention previews and reviews in various newspapers. Punky, classic Rock with elements of Americana. " Bainbridge Music, Edinburgh
"Low key basslines and fuzzy hooks remind me so much of early Nirvana and The Lemonheads, which is no hardship for me! Dark in places, but still edgy and mature, I was pleasantly surprised by this one! Tip of the hat to Teenage Fanclub, Echobelly etc, this is a cracking little 5 tracker. Stand out tracks for me are 'Silver & Gold' and 'Seven Deadly Sins'. Massive brownie points to the lads for not following the current trends, but for creating something thats really fresh (even if it does hark back to the early 90's alt scene) and massively worth a listen. This one has been a grower for me, but they've done really well." Hayley @ Lights Go Out Fanzine
"Bigged up by Jim Gellatly, these Stones-inspired locals have played some big venues over the last year and they're at it again this time at Liquid Room." Edinburgh Evening News
"They have played some impressive shows...Grunge tinged rock and its just brilliant." (Speaking about '21st Century Man')....."They tip their hats to The Clash and 70's punk with a modern indie twist...very catchy, I like them a lot." (Speaking about Work Me Like a Dog) Aaron Phillips, Amazing Radio, UK
"Suitable impressed with these guys." Jim Gellatly, Voice of Unsigned Music in Scotland, Amazing Radio, UK
"'Silver and Gold' confidently blends Teenage Fan Club style guitar textures with a neat chorus, leaving a more than favorable impression…Singer/songwriter Alex Moran and his chums are ones to watch.” Woho Music, London
"The alt country tones of ‘Silver & Gold’ is effortless silky, verging on a stonery shoegaze vibe with a great hook...What more could you hope for from a young band?" Tasty Fanzine, London
“‘Work Me like a Dog’ is a beautiful but edgy, classic black and white performance video.” Wrecked Radio, USA
“As diverse as The Bad Seeds & The Clash with just the right helping of venom.” Lost Control, Webzine
"These guys are destined for big things!" This is Sound Music, Edinburgh
“More dapper than the rest of us…classic album in the waiting.” OTB, Edinburgh - Edinburgh Evening News
The Seven Deadly Sins are a new unsigned self-styled “punk-alt country” band from Edinburgh who, on the basis of the majority of songs on their latest three track demo, show why they are selling out gigs in their home town and rapidly building a loyal fan base north of the border.
The stand-out track 'Silver and Gold' confidently blends T-Fan Club style guitar textures with a neat chorus, leaving a more than favourable impression, whilst the eponymous 'Seven Deadly Sins' is more straight-up-and-at-you rock n roll but none the poorer for it, its catchy “The devil took me by the hand” line lifting up the standard fair on offer. 'Me Like a Dog', the chosen single, is the weaker of the three but even so, there is still enough here to show why Singer/songwriter Alex Moran and his chums are ones to watch.

Bio
The Seven Deadly Sins are an Edinburgh based band formed by singer/songwriter Alex Moran in early 2010. Moran was joined by bassist Kevin Turner, lead guitarist Euan Moran and drummer Nic Ross.
Since their debut on the Scottish live circuit in September 2010 The Seven Deadly Sins have supported Spectrals, The Damned, The Icarus Line, Glasvegas, Elliot Brood and Doll & The Kicks.
The band have played and headlined several of Edinburgh and Glasgow’s most acclaimed venues such as King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Liquid Room, Barrowlands 2, Sneaky Pete’s, The Captains Rest, Cabaret Voltaire, The Voodoo Rooms, Electric Circus in addition to a number of Scottish Festivals.
Since September 2011 the band have been organising and promoting their own monthly shows at Cabaret Voltaire and Sneaky Pete’s, entitled ‘A Deadly Night Out.’ The Seven Deadly Sins choose their own support artists; open the evenings with a small acoustic/rarities set and then return to play an electric headline set.
Within months of forming, The Seven Deadly Sins received an invite to record three singles with London-based management company The Animal Farm. They began recording in the capital during summer 2010.
Early in 2011, The Seven Deadly Sins recorded two tracks at the famous Ca Va Sound studios in Glasgow (where Belle & Sebastian, The Fall and Mogwai have recorded). They recently returned to Ca Va to record with Geoff Allan on 6 new tracks.
In the last twelve months The Seven Deadly Sins have released three music videos for ‘Work Me like a Dog,’ ‘Silver & Gold’ and ‘21st Century Man’ which was shot in Manhattan, New York. These are all directed, edited and graded by well-known Hollywood visual effects guru Ivan Moran (has worked on the visual effects for such films as The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) and London based film maker Henry Stafford.
Henry Stafford is currently working on a fourth music video for the band, to be released to coincide with The Seven Deadly Sins' EP release in June 2012 and UK tour in the autumn.

"With the arrival of Edinburgh-based band The Seven Deadly Sins, indie just found its dirty side. From the Cobain-inspired rhythmic moans serving to structure “An Accident Waiting to Happen,” to the mean-spirited guitar opening of “Work Me Like a Dog,” Alex Moran has created a sound fusing early 90s grunge with the peppy indie of contemporary times: think Bloc Party meets Nirvana. It's a good thing Scotland has such musical pedigree because there's no escaping the Scottishness of these guys. With nine tracks on their Soundcloud page, there's a fair amount of The Seven Deadly Sins' music out there to enjoy. With a catchy chorus and radio-friendly pop leanings, “Silver & Gold” – one of three songs to have a full-fledged music video – stands out as being most obvious contender for breakout single. The teaser for “Dandylion Tea” is promising, having the makings of a mature love song, and would work well as a middle-of-album freshener, even if the impressive, stylish guitar work on tracks like “Work Me Like a Dog” would never get old, and the lyrics on that track – “Treat me like a dog, work me like a dog, I'll be coming back for more” – are charmingly stoic about the role of a man in today's society; its companion piece being “21st Century Man,” which boasts an impressive video filmed on location in Manhattan, New York."
