The Shades

We are an original band from Hibbing, MN made up of 4 childhood friends who grew up playing through out the local music scene. Growing up playing in different bands we came together a couple years after highschool to make up the current line up and sound that is The Shades. Ryan and Grant grew up playing together in a band called The Lost Boys while Darnea and Josh grew up playing in various bands together. After highschool and Darnea's old band spliting up he soon came to play in The Lost Boys with Ryan and Grant as a second guitar player. While working on recording a second record we decided to change our name as for it didn't fit with the more grown up sound we were creating. At the departure of our original drummer we called upon an old friend being Josh. Josh came in mid recording process of the new record learned all the songs and completed the recording process to then become a permanent member of the band. We write, play, record, mix and master our own music out of our studio in Hibbing, MN. Our sound is a wide range from Indie, Alternative, Folk, Rock, Pop, Blues and a few other aspects. We're currently finishing up our new record to be released through our label Expeareyemental Records and hopefully planning of a tour will be in the works in the future. Always looking to play shows and meet new bands and new people.
