The Shake Appeal (taking the name from a Stooges song) started off gigging as a 4-piece in February 2011 and have underwent some line up changes during the year. A lot of gigs were played in South Tyneside with the original line up until drummer Craig left for study in London. 3 demo's 'You Want Me?' and 'Tracks & Trails' and 'With A Fist In My Pocket' were recorded during 2011 and the all new line up will be recording an upcoming EP at South Tyneside College during 2012. The band now consists of Georgia Mcrae (vocals) Joseph Inskip (Guitar) Jordan Johnston (guitar) Phil Morgan (bass) and Matthew Cowey (drums). The new line up has moved the band from a bluesy sound to a more heavy, melodic & vibrant feel. The Shake Appeal have received decent feedback and appraisal from local promoters & music fans some even comparing to bands like The Rapture & Be Your Own Pet. Expect to hear more this year as they begin with a string of gigs around the North East (including support slot for Bleech) & plans to gig around the UK.
