BAND INFO
THE SHAKEDOWN PROJECT

The Shakedown Project came to form early last year with a view to entertain with raw and passionate music. Influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Whitestripes, The Beatles and the Black Angels, the band have already gigged relentlessly over the Scottish Music Scene and are now starting to break into the UK scene with a full UK tour currently being planned for in the next few months. The band started when songwriter Kris Mitchell showed some of his songs to brother Pete and started to jam, they then met drummer David Jones at Music College and have all worked together since. After months in a sweaty practice room, the band decided to take the stage and take everything to the next level.

Last month, the band booked some studio time at a studio located in the idealistic Scottish countryside called 'Exile Studio', and worked with producer Mark Nicol on their first album. Eight tracks were chosen from the bands extensive song bank and were recorded over a period of three days. A video can be seen on myspace.com/theshakedownproject showing the bands trip and various experiences had at the studio, as well as photos and songs. Recently the band made their album available for free download on soundcloud.com to a great response, clocking over 100 downloads in the first few hours.

Band Members:
• Kris Maddox – Lead Vox + Guitar
• Pete Maddox – Bass, Electric Double Bass, Rock Organ + Vox
• David Jones – DrumKit

The band aim to keep expanding and improving, aiming to take part in some festivals in the summertime as well as a full UK tour planning on the horizon. Definitely a band to look up if you enjoy high-octane music fuelled with passion and energy.
