Bio
The Shallows formed in 2008, and has grown and shrunk from then until they finally reached their solid current number of 12 members. Each member bringing their own musical style and preference to the table.
All members contribute and write for the group and the line up includes Violin, Viola, Cello, Harp, Trombone, Noise Artist, on top of a regular-ish line up many members having completed music bachelors at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and The University of Western Australia. The group is influenced largely by artists such as Sigur Ros, Spiritualized and Arcade Fire though their sound is still largely individual and very difficult to define, if you can come up with a genre which we fall into, we'd love to hear it!
It's quite a site to see so much chaos on stage come together in to such synchronised music, the group are currently working on a whole new set of songs!
Set to launch their first EP in 2011 The Shallows gig around Perth around twice a month. Keep an eye out and come down to a show!
