Bio
Calling the Triangle area home, the She-Mamas have recently made their debut on the indie/underground scene. These rocker moms (not soccer moms) somehow manage to find time in between tantrums, chores and careers to rock the house.
On lead vocals and guitar, April Crider’s original lyrics and complex guitar rhythms mix the personal and political with a pinch of female angst. Melissa Thomas, formerly of DC-based Darna3 and Medusa Complex, rocks out on the drums. Krista Schreiber, a recent addition to the band, adds bass. Krista hails from Austin, TX's. A member of The Regrettes (Tear It Up Records) Krista brings veteranship with her and a great sense of style, rounding out the She-Mamas’ sound.
She-Mamas play original rock but have been known to cover other artists’ work including AC/DC’s “Big Balls”. They played at last year’s DADA weekend festival and most recently at local venues, Jo and Joe’s, DAI, and the Cave.
