The Shift, an intoxicating three-piece rock band from Atlanta, is putting back the soul in rock and roll. Considered by many to be a cross between Nirvana and the Beatles, their music pleasures the senses with unforgettable hooks, sandwiched between pulsating power chords, and positive lyrics.
Known for their explosive live shows, The Shift’s musical style ranges from Nirvana and Guns `N Roses to Sublime. And, Tree’s vocal style ranges from Kurt Cobain and Butch Walker to The Beatles. They have opened for several signed bands such as Kelly Keeling (White Snake, Dokken), Blackberry Smoke, Riverboat Gamblers, and headlined at the 99x stage at the NOPI Super Show at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The singer/guitarist, Tree, a screenwriter, inventor, car freak, computer artist, hypnotist, and freakishly tall founder of the feast, leads the band with guitar driven rock with pop sensibility. The drummer, a local celebrity, Pat Turner, is on fire with all the chops of a seasoned percussionist and has played in Salvation, who opened for Ace Freely, Poison, and .38 Special. The bass player, Big Mike, a car freak, IT genius, songwriter, screenwriter, baseball freak, picks out bass hooks for breakfast that will never leave you hungry.
The Shift is not just a band. It's a movement – to combine the spirit of empowering lyrics with music that actually ROCKS, in essence - to put the soul back into rock and roll.
