Their unique blend of rockabilly is a mixture of country, blues, rock, surf, swing and jazz. Put this together with an energetic stage show, and it makes for a night of pure entertainment for music lovers of all genres.

In 2003 and 2004, Shane was nominated for CCMA Bass Player Of The Year, an acknowledgement from his peers in the business. The most rewarding accolades are those that come from the artists that you perform with. Gil grand says of Shane, "Ive had the pleasure of knowing Shane for several years now. Darren Johnson (Guitarist/Songwriter)

After getting his first guitar at 14, Darren was soon immersed in the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. By the age of 17, Darren had played with local musicians at after-school jams and weekend parties.

By the mid-nineties, Darren had defined his interest in traditional blues; influences at this time included Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Buddy Guy. In 1997, Darren and John McLean formed Daily Bread. The two later decided to work as a duo that quickly garnered recognition as the future of blues in the Calgary area. Acoustic porch blues became the norm here; the Delta was the big influence.

Darren has recorded a full length, all original CD titled "the Legend of Hank Gibbled" (Dec. 2002). 2003 saw Darren touring Europe solo with his new CD. The response was encouraging; the trip was a blast! Coming home Darren played with the likes of Tim Williams, Amos Garrett, Back Alley John, Morgan Davis, and Valdy. Darren was recorded live on CKUAs Alberta Sessions at the Engineered Air Theatre in Calgary, AB, and enjoys extensive play on CKUA and CBC.

Darren Johnson is now a welcome member of the Shinerz who adds the right amount of thunder to this whirlwind of entertainment.
