The Shout

The Shout is a feel good pop band from Brighton with an established line-up formed in 2010. The line up consists of Michael; lead singer, Tom; guitar, Chloe; Bass and Josh; Drums.

Primarily using the internet, the lead singer, Michael, has helped to build the fan base of the band both locally and internationally. The Shout currently has no record label and is in complete control of all aspects of their music.

With a prolific stream of new material being produced The Shout are seeking to expand their current gig circuit from the local venues now being played around Brighton.

Evolving from Scream Studios of Brighton, the band's line up has stayed much the same since its formation, the only notable change being the recent addition of Tom Newman on guitar. Michael drafts the majority of the songs; each is then expanded by the whole band into a full composition.

Band influences include a variety of artists; from The Beatles to modern bands such as The Maccabees and NeverShoutNever.

The Shout's first single, Smile, blends a bubbly chorus combined with straightforward strumming to fashion a "cheesy" but incredibly catchy pop single. Chloe's bouncing bass guitar and melodic harmonies can be heard throughout the song adding to its charm, whilst Josh's relaxed approach to the drums holds the band together.

The Shout’s light hearted lyrics and catchy pop riffs will give them a bright future and definitely one to stay in tune with.
