Bio
Dan has been playing guitar for over 20 years and considers himself a lifelong student of music. He graduated with honors from Hollywood's prestigious Musicians Institute in the early 90's and has been a full-time musician ever since. In 1994, he won Chicago's Hottest Guitarist contest sponsored by Budwieser and Washburn Guitars. He was also a winner of Chicago's Finest Fingers Sponsored by Gand Music and Sound. In the latter part of the 90's, he spent 5 to 6 nights a week performing with The Big Swing (later to become The Vanguard Aces) during the height of the swing craze. This tenure led to numerous tours of Europe and the United States and several television appearances - most notably, one with Jules Holland (formerly of Squeeze) for a BBC music special on Chicago blues and one with the entire band on ABC's short lived series "Cupid" starring Jeremy Piven. Since then he has performed with various Chicago acts including The CosmicRays, The Sam Burckhardt Combo, The Professor John Band, and The Tom Carey Band. Dan is also a longtime guitar instructor who firmly believes that "music is a gift that should be shared and passed on to others."
