"An Introduction to The Siege Perilous"

Now I don’t know about you, but when I think of Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the good ol’ US of A, I tend to think of … erm, Happy Days. And please forgive my ignorance, but that’s about it. But just when I thought that The Fonz was the coolest thing to come out of this little pocket of America, I then found The Siege Perilous. And hot damn, are they something.

Consisting of Peter Grau and Amir Hamizadeh on guitars and vocals, Troy Pronchinske on bass and backing vocals and Andrew Stone on drums and backing vocals, this motley crew of sultry charmers have been bringing the goods to the table since their first incarnation back in the summer of 2008. And it isn’t just style over substance, far from it. The Siege Perilous write and perform the type of songs that provide the type of relief that we all sometimes need when stuck in the doldrums doing menial work/school/generally boring stuff. Jam packed with melodic hooks and smooth rhythms that made Red Hot Chilli Peppers a household name, the guys also retain some of the universal appeal and charisma that has propelled bands such as Train and Goo Goo Dolls to careers of both diversity and longevity.

Basically, if you’re a sucker for a well written, fun piece of music, look no further. The Siege Perilous need to be on your radar (as well as your Ipod, alarm clock, radio ect). If there is any justice in the world, then these guys are gonna make it. Remember dudes, dudettes, dogs, cats and other related species, you hear it here first.

Don’t worry, you can thank me later. - The Audio Club

The Siege Perilous

There is a legend that claims King Arthur had a special seat reserved at his round table for the knight that could pull the sword “Excalibur” out of a stone. This chair was called “the siege perilous.”
This story inspired the band to get its name.

Band members senior Troy Pronschinske, senior Andy Stone, Peter Grau and Amir Hamizadeh have been playing together for over a year.

For this performance the band will be joined by their part-time keyboard player, Ian Philips.

They classify themselves as a rock, soft rock, alternative and indie band.

“All of us have a great passion for music,” Stone said. “And we just love to share that with everyone and have a good time doing it.” - Royal Purple News (UW-Whitewater)

"The Siege Perilous"

This week’s Milwaukee Artist of the Week is The Siege Perilous, a 4 piece alternative group consisting of frontman Peter Grau, drummer Andy Stone, guitarist Amir Hamizadeh, and bassist Troy Pronchinske. Formed in 2008, the band has a sound similar to some of the classic alternative albums of the 90s, with a updated influence of today’s indie superstars. The end result are great albums like their most recent release, “Under Different Lights“. Led by the first single, “Curtain”, the album contains 14 well-crafted, harmonic tracks. The influence of modern bands like Jack’s Mannequin and Motion City Soundtrack can be heard, especially on piano-driven songs like “This is Tragedy”. The Siege Perilous also get to show off their wide range of abilities on this album, mixing pop-rock anthems with slower, more dramatic songs. Under Different Lights is the band’s second full length release, coupled with two EPs in between albums. - BreakingAndEntering.Net

Heavily inspired by iconic Wisconsin bands, from Northern Room to The Gufs to Fever Marlene, the group is dedicated to making a difference in the Midwest music scene.

With heavy rotation on Milwaukee's FM102.1, and national play on the Food Network, ABC, the PGA Golf Tour, and CBS, The Siege Perilous is driven to make waves and offer a unique live experience, and has set sail for their own place in the Midwest music scene.
