The Silence

Since forming in early 2010, all five members of The Silence have shared the same musical goal. The band from County Durham in the UK aim to create feelgood music that moves people to enjoy the moment . Formed by drummer Max Griffiths and his sister,West End Stage & TV protégé Livvy and recruiting good friend Liam Slack on bass, the band underwent a couple of line up changes before settling with guitarists Rory Ruddock and Gary Johnstone.The Silence have successfully gigged around the UK and Europe, building an evergrowing fanbase with their energetic,live performances, amazing stage presence and catchy, hook-heavy pop punk/alt rock songs.

With subtle reminders of a young Blondie mixed with the modern sound of bands like Paramore,Foo Fighters and Kings Of Leon,The Silence create an instantly` stuck in the head` sound which incorporates passion,romance,vision and honesty as well as pure melodies.

Often found performing impromptu acoustic sets around their hometown areas after writing new songs,singer Livvy puts to great use her many years of experience performing in musical theatre to gauge audience reaction to new material,
“it helps me with the songwriting process to know immediately how people are reacting to our music and what really works to move them to show their emotion, whether it be to dance or begin to sing along or whatever-any reaction is a good learning curve as a musician,” says Livvy.

Managed by international company CMP who are based in Miami and whose CEO David Giles is one of the worlds biggest and most well know music promoters,The Silence have access to Max and Livvy`s family home recording studio which is where their first demos have been produced by musician dad and band co- manager Paul.Constant live gigging is their passion and they have supported some great artistes including The Hoosiers,Beverley Knight,From The Jam,It Bites,Sick Of Sarah and Futures,as well as headlining their own shows.

The Silence have a chemistry and a bond over their sheer love for music and a passion and determination in their hearts to bring their songs,their enthusiasm and their feelgood factor to the world stage.
