Lyrics

Absence

Written By: Brad Shaw - The Silent Partner

So this is the end, has it left you reeling?
I can still pretend that it’s you I’m feeling
And its alright, well I’m fine; I’ll make it, I’m okay now
So are you still pure, beautiful, loving and true?

Your kiss drips from my tongue
I wasn’t ready for this

CHORUS

I will start again
As sad as this may seem
I feel your absence here
I see you in my dreams

Brown eyes, are you there?
Are you looking backwards?
I am still aware, that it’s you I’m after

And it alright, well I’m fine; I’ll make it, I’m okay now
So are you still pure, beautiful, loving and true?
Your kiss drips from my tougue

CHORUS

And I will stay right here for now
I will stay right here…
Stay right here for now
Your kiss drips from my tongue

Release

Written By: Brad Shaw - The Silent Partner

It's not right to fight
We have no reason to suffer
And there's no time to find
Another reason to love her

So have you decided
Or will I have to face this on my own?
My reasons aren't right but
I just don't want to face this all alone
So breathe in...and breathe out.

CHORUS

Release it on to me
Release it on to me
You're right on time
And the things we said before
Don't matter at this time
Don't matter anymore
We'll leave it all behind

And when I look inside
I find more pain than I can handle
But you're just fine
You've tried with all your heart to make me level

So have you decided
Or will I have to face this on my own?
My reasons aren't right but
I just don't want to face this all alone
So breathe in...and breathe out.

CHORUS

These people scream "My life, my life!"
But what can I control when it's not even my own...

Fall Away

Written By: Brad Shaw - The Silent Partner

Sometimes at night, when angels fly and devils play
It feels so right that I don't know what to say
I'll admit I was not pure of heart
But Anne Marie, now's a good time for new starts

CHORUS

Small little world, large little sky
It falls away from here
All you admit, and all you deny
It falls away from here
So much to do and so much to say
So little time to fear
What is to come and what will not stay
It fall away from here, always fall away for somebody

When morning breaks, the blinds bend to the break of day
But you lie alone and slowly waste away
I'll admit, I was not all I seemed
But Anne Marie, we all have our own dreams

CHORUS

Small little world, large little sky
It falls away from here
All you admit, and all you deny
It falls away from here
So much to do and so much to say
So little time to fear
What is to come and what will not stay
It fall away from here, always fall away for somebody

I'll admit, I was not all I seemed
But Anne Marie, now's a good time for new dreams...

Hold On

Written By: Brad Shaw - The Silent Partner

Say goodbye one more time
Before you go again.
Because it won't be too long before
She says, it's all the same.
She says, it's all the same

People crying all the time
For the loss of friend
And everytime I turn around I see
It's all the same,
I see it's all the same.

This isn't quite the world I knew once before,
I suppose we all could use some change
And every time I walk back out my front door,
Well it all looks the same.

Rain is falling from the sky
Once again, you feel ashamed
These tears are falling from your eyes and he cries it's all the same,
He cries, it's all the same.

Hold On...

This isn't quite the world I knew once before,
I suppose we all could use some change
And every time I walk back out my front door,
Well it all looks the same.

Say goodbye one more time
Before you go again.
Because it won't be too long before
She says, it's all the same.
She says, it's all the same

Hold On...

The Things That Matter Most

Written By: Brad Shaw / The Silent Partner

I think that the things that matter most
Have a tendency to cross my mind as I walk along the coast
Everything is gonna be okay as long you’re around
Everything is gonna be just fine

So maybe I forget sometimes the things I want to say
Holdin’ on a little tight sometimes to the thoughts of yesterday
But we’re all a little full of little storms,
We never really know what is to come
Everything is gonna be just fine

Sometimes worries choke and hurry life,
It’s a fight, but darlin’
Hold on tight, it’s worth the fight I know,
At least I think so...
But I know that I have to try,
That’s the reason why I am alive
Everything is gonna be just fine

(Harmonica Solo)

Sometimes worries choke and hurry life,
it’s a fight, but darlin’
Hold on tight, it’s worth the fight I know, at least I think so
But I know I have to try,
That’s the reason why I am alive
Everything is gonna be just fine

And maybe I’m afraid sometimes of the things I do not know
Have a tendency to cross the line further than I should probably go
Couldn’t help myself to say what I really I thought,
Now I realize that I shouldn’t talk
Everything is gonna be just fine

I think that the things that matter most
Cross my mind as I hold your hand and walk along the coast
What with all these things we care about
You can’t control the way that they turn out
Everything is gonna be just fine

We’re all a little full of little storms
We never really know what is to come
Everything is going to be just fine

Drift

Written By: Brad Shaw / The Silent Partner

VERSE 1
The sun comes up steaming in the eastern skies and settles back down in the west where I live my life and I find out how fast time flies.

But if I could have just a moment, one moment to choose
The way that I’d spend it and the things that I’d do…I would spend it with you.

CHORUS
I can’t keep up with all this (even if I try)
So I’ll just drift, blow you a kiss so long and goodbye

VERSE 2
There’s some days I wake up and I wonder how it’d be if I had lots of money
A car, a home in the hills maybe and if it’s really me

Still I have to ask myself who’s got the better gig in life – I guess we choose
The one who’s afraid to lose it all or those of us who’ve got nothing to lose.

Cause I don’t really want to live my life until my dying day
Struggling to get the next dollar, the next thing anyway
It’s not worth my time

CHORUS
I can’t keep up with all this (even if I try)
So I’ll just drift, blow you a kiss so long and goodbye

(Harmonica Solo)

VERSE 3
Every now and then I start to wonder about the meaning
Of it all and I lose heart and start to get the feeling that things won’t turn out right

But then I stop to think about the way everything turns and works
And the people that I’ve love, lost and hurt
And I know it’ll be alright

Again I say life’s too short not to realize what you’ve got
And it’s too long to linger on the things that you’ve lost
Love everybody and let ‘em love

CHORUS
I can’t keep up with all this (even if I try)
So I’ll just drift, blow you a kiss so long and goodbye
Stay right here and let me feel you are mine
Sit right here and let me feel that I am yours

This Christmas Eve

Written By: Brad Shaw - The Silent Partner

This Christmas Eve

Verse 1
Lights all around
The sights and sounds fill the air
Lovers holding hands
Telling friends that they care
The first snow of the year has finally arrive
It falls on my cheeks makes me feel I’m alive
Before you go I just want you to know that…

Chorus
This Christmas Eve
Pick up the phone
Please won’t you call me
Cause no one should be all alone
On Christmas Eve
Please won’t you call me
And tell me you love me
Cause I don’t want to be on my own

Verse 2
Streets slick with cars
All the bars overflow
Things being bought
Ribbons cut and I know
The best time of the year has finally arrived
Snow falls to the ground and they turn on the lights
Before we go, I just want you to know that…

Chorus
This Christmas Eve
Pick up the phone
Please won’t you call me
‘Cause no one should be all alone
On Christmas Eve
Please won’t you call me
And tell me you love me
‘Cause I don’t want to be all alone

Bridge
Still all of these things
Don’t mean a thing if you’re not there
The songs that I sing
Don’t mean a thing cause I don’t care
If you’re not here

Chorus
This Christmas Eve
Pick up the phone
Please won’t you call me
‘Cause no one should be all alon
On Christmas Eve
Please won’t you call me
And tell me you love me
‘Cause I don’t want to face this alone

On Christmas Eve
Please won’t you call me
And tell me you love me
‘Cause I don’t want to be all alone
