Bio

THE BAND
The Singers is an indie rock band born in Rome at the beginning of 2010. Because Italy was missing something elegant, because acid guitar riffs went AWOL, because there weren’t enough charming melodies out there.

If The Beatles are the mother of all influences, the gaunt and energetic indie offered by modern and sophisticated bands are the real viruses that contaminated many of the notes of "The Room Went Black", The Singers’ explosive debut album.

On record, as in live concerts, the stinging guitars and the clenched and introspective rhythmics go hand in hand with a taste for melody and the respect for songwriting. At the end of the day, music is good if you can sing along with it. At the top of your lungs.

THE ALBUM: “THE ROOM WENT BLACK”
The band wrote and arranged the 12 songs for The Room Went Black in just nine months. The debut album was recorded and mixed at Rome’s Trafalgar Recording Studio between November 2010 and February 2011. In March The Singers flew to London to finish the job: the album was mastered at Fluid Studio by Tim Debney (The Decemberists, British Sea Power, Mumford and Sons between many others). Sounds and production were handled by The Singers and Giovanni Illuminati, who recorded and mixed the album.

The album first single is "Dance! Dance! Dance! (Hit The Floor)", a contagious rock nursery rhyme that gets under the listeners skin. The song was chosen for a TV ad by a well known italian clothing brand.
