Bio

The all girl trio formed in the fall of 2004 after playing together in a band called Sufferjet. The Sixteens named themselves after an experience with a lotto ticket, in which they were mistaken for winning a large sum of money. As they began to collaborate on their new songs, they realized they had ideas and a sound that reflected the rebellious side one acquires when they turn sixteen.

Even though the history of The Sixteens is new and in the making, the players have their own resumes of experience that leaves them far from being rookies.

Amy Wilson, the band's vocalist and guitar player, has been playing in bands for 14 years, and is a seasoned guitar player of 17 years. Her first experience with singing came about when she formed a band called Molotov Grasshopper in 1992, which was signed to Island records in 1995. The band moved to Los Angeles, CA in '98, and after their break-up in 2000, Wilson moved back and pursued various other projects which included: Helen Wheels, Dr. Sniff and the Pink Napkins, Post, and Sufferjet. She has opened stages for Boss Hog, Cibbo Matto, Mercy Rule and Tripping Daisy.

Britt Smith started playing the drums when she was sixteen before realizing that she had a knack for the other end of the rhythm section. Playing shows at the age of eighteen, she has performed in numerous bands including Big Block, Lushbox, Pop Culture Prom and The Last of the V8's. She has opened stages for Everclear, Cake and The Urge. She has survived touring in bands with stinky guys while slinging a few drinks in between, and has finally found home with The Sixteens.

After always wanting to play drums in a band, Jill Schultze was inspired by friends to actually do it. She went out and purchased a new drum set without having any previous experience. She formed Dr. Sniff and the Pink Napkins in the summer of 2002 with Amy Wilson and they have been together ever since.
