The Slaughterhouse Five

The Slaughterhouse Five

 Perth, Western Australia, AUS
BandRock

Hooligan grunge rock. With a touch of hair metal.

Biography

Perth Band The Slaughterhouse Five are sweet enough to rot your teeth, hard enough to knock em out and dirty enough to give you a nasty bacterial infection. Ginger-Baker-vitus perhaps. Describing themselves as Glam-Grunge, The Slaughterhouse Five take their influences from bands such as Blue Oyster Cult, The Kinks, Nirvana and The Melvins.

Since forming in early 2005, The Slaughterhouse Five have shown enough promise to win the first heat of the National Campus Bands Competition (their debut performance). In February of 2006, they played a run of dates in Melbourne (including The Cherry Bar and The Tote), and then in June released their Debut CD The Slaughterhouse Five Are Fuck You Love at the Amplifier Bar in Perth. Shortly thereafter, the CD was a feature album on RTRFM and the band was made WA artist of the week on Twin Cities FM.
