The Slumbers

BandRockPop

Indie rock 'n roll through and through. Based on the magic of rock 'n roll throughout its history, we try to put a really nice twist on the world through sounds. Neat, isn't it?

Biography

We started in August, 2007. Our style of writing music is extremely unique as it begins with lyrics and a melody for the most part. Darren Kaplan, the proud father of new songs on a very frequent basis, made it aware to Danny and Tony in the fall of 2006 that he was a songwriter. They had already been in a group named The Projects and were tempted to try write around the melodies and lyrics of their friend. Their first song, "Roger Rover", indicated that there was a deep chemistry between the three as a songwriting trio. Over the span of about a week, the guys sat down and penned music to 10 original songs. Over the next week, they were already playing them out love and demoing them in their studio.

The Slumbers are influenced by the world around them. Its as simple as that. It would be very easy to ramble off on names like The Beatles, The Strokes, Oasis, Rufus Wainwright... but they wouldn't lead to any conclusive links. The members of this band have been through a diverse story of their own and tell the diverse story of the world and the sounds they love through their music.
