"DSM Entertainment"

DSM

Name: DSM
Element: MC/Lyricism
Region: NationWide
DSM Entertainment is a group of up and coming hip-hop artists; based out of Phoenix, Arizona; gathering acts from the Four Corners area; as well as corresponding with groups from the NorthWest and East Coast. They are our latest highlight of up and comings; who took awhile to feature; and sat on the back burner for awhile; but we finally got a chance to give our site members an opportunity to listen and judge; what could possibly be the next movement. The company and collective; was created with the idea of original culture of hip-hop being their backbone into music; and DSM’s goal is devoted to marketing underground sound and lyrics to mainstream society.
DSM represents, four different groups; Artikle (Dorango, CO), The Brix (Seattle, WA), Tha Smob (Phoenix, AZ), and Nate Banks (Raleigh, NC). Although still in developing stages; they are heading ‘The Brix’ & ‘Artikle’ to be their first groups’ geared for commercial release. ‘The Brix’ are featured on a DVD Soundtrack for the movie ‘Treasure in the Hood’. As well as having some nationally distributed projects in the works; including a rumored complilation featuring all four DSM groups; also featuring KRS One, Sunz of Man, Gravediggaz, and many others.

Artikle is included in the feature audio in this feature. Artikle was formed in early 2005 by LOZEE (aka C.A.P.-ONE) and HIGH GAIN (aka MOWGL) of the NonCents Crew and MYNCE of Tha Smob. As old friends and independent artists they decided to link because of shared musical interests and common vision of what hip hop lacks. They are attempting to bring the culture of hip hop back to the frontline. Other featured audio and notables would definitely include the tracks by ‘Nate Banks’ and ‘Tha Brix’ – peep the audio below and hear for yourself.

"Bodog Battle of the Bands round 2"

Up next was this talented group, The Smob. Their blend of hip hop and rock and roll really showcased the individual talents of all the members, and made for a great show. Get this- a drummer, three vocalist, a bass player, a saxophonist and turn tables, all on the same stage. This was a LIVE hip hop group, no hidden track just a talented group. - www.bodogmusic.com

"Bodog Battle of the Bands round 1"

The Smob was last but not least. Their eclectic styled hip-hop was definitely a first at the BBOB. There were so many different sounds and effects that came out of the band it was intriguing and entertaining while proving there is more to indie music than just guitars and drums. - www.bodogmusic.com
