The Soft Focus

Formed in late 2008, The Soft Focus came together through a mutual love of indie bands and alcohol. After placing a few ads on Craigslist, singer Seamus James, guitarist Greg Frayne, and drummer Ben Batchelor began playing and consuming at the Nicholl street home studio. A few weeks later, Ben discovered bassist James Kirby while playing Rock Band at a party. His buttery bass lines and on-stage antics rounded out the lineup, and the Soft Focus was born. Inspired by acts such as The Strokes, Bloc Party, the Black Angels, MGMT, and Spoon, they set out to make music that fills a room with so much awesome, you can't help but move your feet.
