There's something seriously wrong in Cereal City, or at least that's what it sounds like when the urgency in The Soft Takeover's six-song EP first explodes out of speakers. Made up of former members of Oceans of Regret, Eleanors Fall and The Krisco Lockets The Soft Takeover run through a few gears familiar to to another aggressive area rock-act no longer around: Small Brown Bike. Songs like "I'm the Mountain" and "Here Come the Waves" have a rich guitar sound immaculately captured introductory E.P. which propels the Barely Contained shouted-out choruses bass bareling down behind them. - Recoil Magazine
