The Solid – positive rock, Sigulda.
The Solid was founded in 2008. at Sigulda by four scoolmates Andris, Kristaps, Nauris and Linards, whom long before the foundation of the group were already participating in the art of making music by learning various music instruments, attending music school and the orchestra.
The first year passed in search for the musical genre, playing cover versions and some demo recordings but the year 2009.-2010. was noticed for its active participation in playing in many different clubs and festivals (Piladzis, Fonofest, Sutas balss ect.).
After high school, due to the change around them, the band also has a change in their musical taste and the year 2011. becomes a time when the group is fully aware of the music they want to create and they begin their hard work in making new songs and recording them in a studio.
The first achievement was their song recorded in May 2011 „Beautiful day”, that took part in the contest by Radio 101 „Cesu Premium New music”. With that, the number of fans for the band began increasing. After a few months the Solid record their next single „Goodbye” and after performing in some concerts, the band goes on a small break in which it is joined by a new guitarist Ingus. Right now they are working on their debut album that is planned to be released by the end of 2012. As well as a video clip is being made for one of the newest song.
The Solid represents a music genre that could be described as positive rock which is influenced by indie music, pop rock and alternative genres as well as artists such as Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Green Day, U2, the Killers, Placebo, 30 Seconds to Mars and many more.
The Solid, while using the classic rock music instruments, are also experimenting with various studio and synth effects,while at the same time paying attention to the compositions structure and melody.
The bands lyrics are about the different human emotions, feelings and phylosophical aspects that take over us, looking at the population and people from another point of view and judging their movement as well as the ideas of living better, not being afraid and maybe even ignoring the stereotypes of humanity.
