The Soul Panacea

Founded on the belief that music can heal your soul, the experience known as The Soul Panacea is an open, flowing exchange of energy between band and audience that will truly have you feeling better as you exit the venue and return to reality. Filled to the brim with thick grooves and crunchy funk, single doses of The Soul Panacea have been known to leave people physically addicted and craving more on a daily basis. Literally the funk to cure your ailments, The Soul Panacea thrives in a live environment, and shows are known for carrying extremely high energy. With a dedication to danceability, and a commitment to top-notch composition and improvisation, the music contains something for all listeners, from casual fans to educated jazz musicians, making it easily digestible.

The trio met in 2004 as jazz students at Booker High Schools Visual and Performing Arts Program in Sarasota, Florida. They played music together and in various bands throughout high school. When all three members were awarded full scholarships to Berklee College of Music in 2008, they decided to aim their music in a direction with purpose and meaning. Earliest concoctions of The Soul Panacea were crafted in late night dorm sessions and were especially crisp and funky. As their skills were refined, a smoother recipe was unearthed as well as a new style of communal improvisation where nothing matters except weather or not the music sounds good. Here no solos are taken, only the spontaneous creation of musical instances.
