Bio
As three individuals, we all have very different personal tastes as far as what influences and inspires us musically. However, with all of our different interests and our specific talents, when we collaborate, we have great chemistry.
Our sound is very different from what we've heard anyone else do, and not just locally.
The Soundness was first formed in early 2010, under the name "Eyes in the Shadow" which was later changed when we decided it didn't quite encapsulate our music within a name. The new name, derived from a "Critical Thinking" lecture in argumentation, seemed to describe us perfectly. Thus, "The Soundness" was born.
Lead vocalist Valeri is from a small town, Louisburg, Kansas and is a film major at the Art Institutes International - KC. Drummer, Clay, with a degree in audio engineering, teaches in the film program at the same art school.
Clay and Nate, two musical collaborators looking for a front woman, found me, Valeri. Creating music became the way all three of us as individuals could band together and make something that had a bigger voice than all of us.
We strongly bond through this artistic musical medium we've created together that is The Soundness.
