Biography:
Long Island’s The Souvenir (www.myspace.com/thesouvenirband) means music with life, with love and with emotion. Their songs are their journey. The lyrics, the rhythm, the guitar solos and the melodies work together to paint in vivid color the pictures of that journey.
You wouldn’t know that the life of the band has been one short year. Their connection and chemistry connotes a sound of seasoned maturity despite their short relationship.
Maiorino wrote the catchy riffs for their debut EP “Protect the Heart” adding slicing lyrics and melodic vocals. Ryan added screaming solos and interludes while Tom and James provided the grooves which became the backbone of the songs.
The Souvenir recorded "Protect the Heart” at SSLI Studios in Smithtown, NY with producer Jon Castelli. The EP was recorded over 3 days. And from those 3 days work, they have received an overwhelming response. The Souvenir was honored to have a packed house at their Long Island EP release held at The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY. They won over several new fans at that show as their loyal followers sang along to every song on “Protect the Heart”.
The Souvenir continues to win over new crowds and is ambitiously hitting the New York scene building a bigger local fan base. The band is constantly writing and debuting new material. They anticipate recording and releasing a full length album later this year.
