Bio

Based in Central Victoria, The Sparnetts play original country songs written by the Wendy Phypers.
In 2000 The Sparnetts released their debut self titled album and consequently
won the 2000 Golden Guitar for Best Group or Duo for the single ‘Rollin’ Along'.
The 2000 Australian Country Music Annuals top fifty albums of the year saw The Sparnetts get second spot behind Slim Dusty at Number 1.
In 2001 and The Sparnetts were nominated in the top ten albums of the year at The Golden Guitar awards and nominated for group or duo for the single '2 Pot Screamer'.
In 2003 The Sparnetts returned to the studio to record their second album 'Is This What We Call Life ?' produced by Richard Pleasance.
2004 saw the song ‘Fine Day Tomorrow’ from the second album selected with eleven others performers for ABC Radio’s “Fresh Air” compilation album from a field of over 650.
The Sparnetts have songs on ABC Records compilations including Open Road, Sweethearts of the Radio, ABC Airplay 3. The Sparnetts have appeared on national TV - Ray Martins Midday Show, Bert’s Morning Show and recently played on Derek Guilles ABC show. They have performed at many music festivals including Tamworth, Port Fairy, Gympie Muster, Apollo Bay Music Festival and have played in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and country towns in between.
