"The Spins - Hello Baby"

This group is the brainchild of famed Italian drummer Alessia Mattalia who, in The Spins, has created an electro-pop ensemble that are bright with trance and powered by pop. The vocals (provided by Sharon May Linn) are defiant within their Latin rhythms and, in the experimental version of Hello Baby, are propelled upwards by high energy beats.

The chillout version of Hello Baby has Sharon's vocals swimming in an ambient whirlpool of beats, clicks and aquatic sounding keyboards - changing the mood of the song and making a track that would sit well in any Ibiza collection.

"The Spins - Hello Baby"

Italy’s The Spins proclaim that they can boast the most well-known female drummer in all of Italy in their Alessia Mattalia. Well regardless of the validity of that statement she certainly backs it up with an incredible array of percussion mixed amid a contusion of electronic pop bliss. Fleeting synths that shift upwards and downwards in a never-ending crescendo of tweaked effects. The mixes are all quite different and intriguing in their maguey intertwining sounds and effects. It’s different but it’s sure worth a listen.

Bio

The Spins are an Electro-Pop band from Torino, Italy and created in April 2004 by Alessia Mattalia, the most well-known female drummer from Italy.

THE BAND
ALESSIA MATTALIA Alessia is the most well-known italian female drummer. In her career stand out her years with pop band B-Nario, with whom opened Michael Jackson's concert at S. Siro Stadium in Milan (June 18th, 1997) and the whole european tour of Eros Ramazzotti in 1998. Alessia is also the only italian female drummer ever featured in the pages of US magazine MODERN DRUMMER (June 2001 issue). In June 2006 she's been voted by italian mag PERCUSSIONI readers as one of the 10 best female drummers in the world. Recently she performed as headliner at Montluçon drum festival (France 2005), Lyon Bag' Show (France 2004), Torino Drumming Festival (Italy 2007).

KIMEL Lead guitarist and songwriter, Kimel loves to encapsulate in her music the "glass world" she lives in. After having walked through the soloist experience and having opened concerts of many italian popstars leading a three pieces rock band, Kimel now joins The Spins as front-woman and lead guitarist, giving to the band songs the extra mile of her powerful voice and intriguing way of playing rock music.

MARCELLO GIORDANO The Spins' keyboardist and primary songwriter showed for the first time his talent in 1994, when his song I WISH YOU sold over 48.000 copies in Europe (Proprio Records). When Alessia Mattalia joined ArX, she and Marcello built a solid artistic team, which created not only The Spins' songs but the new set of electro-jazz songs as well that Alessia - with the live contribution of her bandmate - plays in her drum clinic european tour.

MARIO PIGNATELLI If someone of you noticed a kind of resemblance with Toto's Steve Lukater, er... well you're right. Other than being one of the most powerful italian guitarist, Mario - as lead guitar of official Toto tribute band Candyman - is becoming more and more similar to the great original. In the near future we'll test if he can write something as fine as - for example - Hold The Line, we never refuse a good single! Mario is official endorser of MATON Guitars, BREEDLOVE guitars, BLADE, MATCHLESS, AER and CARL MARTIN effects.
