"The Boston Herald"

"The Splendid Nobodies play the hell out of their instruments and songs..." - Sarah Rodman

"Miles of Music"

"Boston`s Splendid Nobodies fire off their sophomore release with rollicking gusto and whip-smart cleverness. They may hit the ground running on this "strange trip" but they soon settle into roots-cool cruise mode as they explore rocky American musical terrain with what amounts to a V-8 engine, the 10 songs here swing from powerhouse numbers packed with catchy hooks and classic pop charm to acoustic musings full of hip rural and ragged charm. " - Robinson

"The Noise"

Strange Trip is a mix of Americana, roots, country, rockabilly, and rock ’n’ roll. With this release, Splendid Nobodies offer up some songs that are really gratifying to listen to. The musicianship is exceptional and the lyrics avoid being trite. It’s not too country to be honky tonk and it rocks enough to still be rock ’n’ roll. "
- Boston's Monthly Rock Magazine - CD Review for "Strange Trip."

"The Boston Herald"

" Equal parts Carl Perkins, the Flying Burrito Brothers and the Rolling Stones, The Splendid Nobodies manage to harness fiery riffs and catchy vocals amidst tuneful melodies, while accenting them with peppy dashes of banjo and acoustic guitar."
- Michael J. Ryan

"The Noise"

" I am allergic to country. I am sick of folk. So how is it that a band of so-called nobodies can mix these musics with rock, and make me want to dance on the table?" - Boston's Monthly Rock Magazine - Live Review

"The Boston Globe"

"Right down to its name, Boston's Splendid Nobodies is a humble crew - in everything that is, but musicianship. The Nobodies' musical universe merges blues rock, traditional country, and rockabilly."

- Jonathan Perry

"Skope Magazine"

"The Splendid Nobodies have delved deeper into country roots and rock and roll roots, tracing both genres into their Americana musical history. Authenticity abounds in these tracks, and it sometimes becomes hard to believe the band is from Boston and not Nashville." - Bill Copeland - CD REview of "Strange Trip."

Bio

"The Splendid Nobodies play the hell out of their instruments and songs …” wrote the Boston Herald upon the release of their debut record, “Coming Back Around.” Later the Herald placed this disc on a list of 10 Boston records worthy of being heard by a wider audience and described the Nobodies' sound as "equal parts Carl Perkins, the Flying Burrito Brothers and The Rolling Stones."

The Boston Globe followed with a feature article on the band in which they claimed, "Right down to its name, Boston's Splendid Nobodies is a humble crew - in everything that is, but musicianship. The Nobodies' musical universe merges blues rock, traditional country, and rockabilly."

In July 2005 the band released it’s follow up record called, “Strange Trip.” Skope Magazine wrote, "While their debut recording was loaded with delightful ditties, "Strange Trip" finds them offering up more heartfelt songs with thicker textures and even stronger musicianship... Authenticity abounds in these tracks, and it sometimes becomes hard to believe the band is from Boston and not Nashville."

The Noise, a magazine dedicated to covering the rock scene of Boston, raved about a Nobodies' live show saying, " I am allergic to country. I am sick of folk. So how is it that a band of so called nobodies can mix these musics with rock and make me want to dance on the table? "

The group has performed extensively in the Boston area and they have toured the East Coast, playing in fine venues like CBGB's Gallery in New York City. Other tour stops have included Albany NY, Providence RI, Philadelphia PA, Washington DC and Richmond VA. The band was chosen to showcase in the 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 NEMO Music Conferences in Boston. They were named Battle of the Bands Winners by Volkswagen of America in a national contest held to select the best unsigned acts in the country to open festival dates of their College ED. Tour '02.

Boston Magazine suggested, "Maybe this band should reconsider its name. The Nobodies are quickly becoming Somebodies for their blues-meets-rockabilly sound. But the Splendid part justly describes their contagious and inspired playing."

Currently, the band continues to write and play music that The Boston Herald called, " as fun as a back porch hootenanny...Splendid, indeed."
