The best kept secret in music

Sex drugs and rock 'n roll is a cliche way to describe any band that came out after 1965, but it is a fitting a nd well-deserved characterazation for this little slice of heaven. Recorded at Earthling Studios, Orange Boom is a gorgeous album from tack one to eight. Powerful, devilishly romantic and dripping with sexual anticipation, it's the kind of music that makes your mouth water. Get this album now and while you're out, pick up a pair of panties 'cause you're gonna need 'em. - SD Music Matters (May 2005)

"this band defines what rock ‘n’ roll music should be - noisy, impulsive and vivacious"

The Spots are a trio founded in San Diego, California. Kurt and Keith are Chicago transplants who moved west and played as a duo until they finally found Wally, a hard hitting no-frills drummer.
Keith and Kurt were privileged enough to live in Chicago, a city famous for its blues music. The band likens it’s inspiration from blues based rock bands like the Stooges and MC5.
Their CD, “Orange Boom” - was recorded, mixed and produced in one crazy weekend at Mike Kamoo’s Earthling Studio in El Cajon. The band kept it simple and limited work on the CD to live vocals, guitar, bass, drums and some percussion with little or no overdubs.
The band just relased their brand new EP "Black Love." Look for it now!
The music is simple, guitar-based rock and roll. Their back-to-basics sound is an honest simplicity that reflects the band’s blue-collar background.
Usually working without a set list, The Spots live shows go on feel and raw energy alone.
