The Stampede

The Stampede

BandRockPunk

We're a vocal driven punk rock band. Our sound is unique, not like any other punk act out there. Our main influences would be NOFX, No Use for a Name, Lagwagon, Against Me!, and The Lawrence Arms. For the last year we have been establishing our act in Austin and other crowds in Texas.

Biography

Rule number one for The Stampede is have fun. We create music that everyone can enjoy. That being said, most would say that our songs are pretty catchy, but we keep the energy going throughout our performance.

The band started out with Phillip and Austin writing songs in their apartment while going to college. That's the reason we called our EP, that we recorded in that apartment, "Apartment Complex". And that's meant to convey an ailment, not a noun.

After finishing up our schooling we decided to move out to Austin, TX. This is where the band becomes complete. Placing an ad on Craigslist, we met Brandon. We've been rocking ever since! Mostly, we have been playing solely in Austin, but we are capable of travel. We have played at The Albatross in Witchita Falls, TX and Pedicab Bar in San Antonio.

Lyrics

A Lesson Before Dying

Written By: The Stampede

Verse 1:
Pulled the trigger, first attack but you came back twice as strong and fast. And I'm taking fire now. Grenades ignite and steal the air. Everyone suffers no one even cares to keep us safe from here.

Chorus:
Sew your wounds up
Sew your wounds up
I'm counting the thread
Counting the thread

Verse 2:
Crawl behind the ambulance. I think tonight is our last dance and I'll only wait so long. Stitches mend the broken skin, but they can't save me from this sin. I'm not coming back this time

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:
I'm counting thread, counting days untnil we're dead. Say your worst. I'm counting thread.
Sew your wounds up. Scrape for hate. Cut by love. Sew your wounds up.

I'm counting thread. At last I find a reason to let go. It's hard but unavoidable. A kiss to start the saddest song. A stitch to heal what's so far gone.

Take me to the exit. I'm ready to go home. There will be no deal here. Only your defeat. I'm ready to accept this. This pain you left for keeps. You said you wanted more, but all I have is me. So go ahead and squeeze it. This triggers my remorse. This barrel is my savior. Some call this victory.

Thrillseeker

Written By: The Stampede

Verse 1:
Thrillseeker, you've got to react before a thought of mortality creeps in, and you are left standing on the edge. Mindreader, you've got to know before they know all of the lives you vandalize and crimes committed. Deep desires, constructed empires of life.

Chorus:
You said you'd never die. So did I. Just do it all. Said you'd never die. That's such a lie. Just do it all.

Verse 2:
Do it all. It's so easy when you jump before you fall. Politician, selected leader meant to do the greater good. Well I wish you would.

Repeat Chorus

The Fire

Written By: The Stampede

Verse 1:
Take a look at your dreams today. They seem difficult don't they? When inspiration is your biggest fear you won't ever make it here. Light the match. Put it out. Put it out. They are clueless.

Chorus:
We are the fire. It's what we were made for, but how will we ever know.
We know, we know because we're here.
Thought we were braver. Though we could say more. We're lost.

Verse 2:
A dreamer's dream is neverending. You spend a long, long time pretending who we are and what we wanted to be. Let's take charge. We can do anything, say anything we want.

Chorus

Bridge:
We are the right but we don't belong.
We are the bright sons of this winless fight. They are the ignorant chosen to lead. They are the suffocating. We are the heat.

Chorus
