"They show no lack of confidence in their performances, with the lead singer and bass player giving it their all. They are all solid musicians and all add their own colours to the overall blend in the music." Derek Rushe - Gigging N.I.

Bio
The Star Spangled Badgers were formed on New Years Eve night, 2008, when two school pals, Brian Horner and James Fitzpatrick, drunkenly decided to start a band. The pair had very differing musical backgrounds, with Brian having previously chased a solo career as an acoustic singer songwriter, and James having played in a previous rock band. It was through Fitzy that James Martin, bass, and his brother Nick, drums, were introduced. In the summer of 09 Gareth Burke joined the band as lead singer. The new arrival fitted perfectly into place, and the now five strong band began writing songs.
The Badgers recorded their first EP Suit Up!, which included tracks Taste It, Next and 14 early May 2010. Bringing their music to the masses, The Star Spangled Badgers have headlined gigs at the Ulster Grand Prix and, Belfast's famous Limelight, among many other venues. They recently received recognition from the People's Music Awards, by progressing through the first round of the competition.
A band of eclectic taste, they list their influences as; The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince, Thin Lizzy, Dave Matthews Band, Funkadelic, Pearl Jam, The Pixies, Weezer, Michael Jackson, Miles Davis and Jamiroqua
