Bio
The Stereotones first formed in Bergen County, New Jersey in October of 2002 while all of the members were attending the Dwight-Englewood School. United by similar musical ambitions and the unanimous desire to play in a rock n' roll band, the four members convened to write original music. Since that time, the band has written and recorded a 7-song, all original EP entitled "Stay."
Combining the abrasion of alternative rock with the accessibility of more mainstream artists, the band has crafted a distinct brand of groove-influenced rock n' roll. Influenced by every genre from classic rock to indie, latin, disco, punk, and jazz, The 'Tones' sound cannot be heard elsewhere. The band has played shows around the Northeast and New York City at venues such as The Continental, Sin-e, Lion's Den, and Tribeca Rock Club, in addition to Olive's (Nyack, NY) and the World Café Live (Philadelphia). They recently performed at Freedom Fest, held on July 4th at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. Currently, the band is playing shows in and around the New York metropolitan area in order to promote "Stay" and to perform new songs that will be featured on their full-length release, which is scheduled to be released in 2007.
