The Stoneflys

The Stoneflys

BandRockJam

Inspired by the likes of Neil Young, Dave Matthews and The Lord of the Rings, the songs are powerful and emotional. The beautifully intense sounds of violin creates an ancient feeling weaved with a modern driving force. High energy, but professional, live performance is their passion.

Biography

This five-piece progressive-folk-rock band brings the past, present and future into perspective. The Stoneflys are an exciting group of passionate, fun and generous personalities.

The band spawned from the musings of singer-songwriter Frank Veraldi. Inspired by the likes of Neil Young, Dave Matthews and The Lord of the Rings, Frank began writing powerful and emotional lyrics and chord progressions. The beautiful and intense sound of Cathy Starr's violin compliments the evolving bass lines of Tal Lekberg, Justin Marsh's powerful drums and provocative guitar lines by Matt Robinson.

With roots firmly planted in the plains of Northern Illinois, the Stoneflys make music that bends genres and spawns a multi-generational fan base. Building on the narrative qualities of folk music, the often lyrically intensive songs also draw heavily from rock, jazz, jam, indie, and even a bit of disco at times.

This is music that will make you think and dance simultaneously.

The Path Home

Written By: Francis M. Veraldi

What a night
For a moonlight stroll
We'll take the milky way
It’s the way home
Across the silver sea
To white shores of eternal peace

Oh, I wanna take you there when I go home.

Get on board
This silver ship
Woven sails
Through time we’ll slip
No fork
In the road
Only straight to Valinor

Oh, I wanna take you there when I go home.

Home is all where I want to go
Don’t make me stay in this place it's so cold
And I am tired here, I need to rest my bones
Take me to my throne

What a night
For a moonlight stroll
We'll take the milky way
It’s the way home

Home is all where I want to go
Don’t make me stay in this place it's so cold
And I am tired here, I need to rest my bones
Take me to my throne

Hooves & Steel

Written By: Francis M. Veraldi

The horse comes walking down the road
Upon this steed, the malice strode
And he wonders how could this fiction could be so real
As if someone torn the pages, as his mind congeals
The pace picks up hooves over broken steel
His hand reaches down to spine the wheel
But he notices who now won

It is a sick feeling when you know you lost
And your ego could boil a winter frost
Frustrating hand clenches down could bend a cup
Till it’s all empty
Till your mind is put at ease

Now what happens when that horse wakes up
You will have to contend or are you so mixed up
No longer steed and his blade crush down
You there naked and useless describes you now
But he notices who just won

It is a sick feeling when you know you lost
And your ego could boil a winter frost
Frustrating hand clenches down could bend a cup
Till it’s all empty
Till your mind is put at ease
