Bio

The Stools were created in 1989 by WBCN Morning Show regulars Lance Norris, Bob Malatesta and Ed Maloney as the house band for The Duane Glasscock Show. Their first song, “Lay Some Pipe”, quickly became a local hit and their popularity skyrocketed with the release of “Italian Ice (Go Guido, Go)” on Cherry Disc Records.

The band remained active through the 90’s, and were even threatened by The New Kids On The Block on their Christmas message to fans. Although they have never officially broken up, the band did stop touring after they played the Boston Garden for a second time, and felt anything else would be a let down.

As the band enter their 21st year, both Malatesta and Maloney retired while Norris has shepherded The Stools through several incarnations. Although he is much in demand as an actor, appearing in Academy Award winning films by Clint Eastwood and Edward Zwick, lighter fare with Ricky Gervais and Joe Pesci and several TV shows and national commercials, Norris and the band continue to record new music and play select dates around the country.
