Lyrics

A Sad Song

Written By: the stragglers

There’s a group of people and I’m proud that I know them
And everybody has a different way of pulling through
Everyone has a different way of sighing

I didn’t need to pay a dime or even stand in line
With no books and no maps I bet it’s all in side
With a little bit of help from a simple car ride

I never…lost it…or lost touch. (x2)

The only light is a lamp so I can see what I wrote
And I spilled my guts before my ribcage broke
And I turned these used lungs into dress shoes

I wouldn’t want to see you lying in a hospital bed
Especially if you lost your sight or your legs
Just sleep on it, we’ll decide in the morning.

And I don’t want to hear that someone thinks that this is a sad song.
I swear to you this ain’t a sad song
I got through it all

If I had failed then I’d admit, ‘yeah, I need it after all.’
If I hadn’t quit, I’d need it afterall
But we’re through it now.

So nobody better ever say that this is a sad song.
I swear to you this ain’t a sad song
Not at all, not at all.

These Arms are Yours

Written By: the stragglers

Wish I could be a damn good listener
I could of saved you that night
I try to tell myself there was hope or at least something similar
But I know my lies are white.

Well we’ve put ourselves in a brand new room / with locked windows and doors.
All we’ve found so far are expectations, no hesitations yet.
And within our reach I can’t believe the sound you sent to the floor
We both grabbed the walls and went for it all as soon as our lips met.

And with your hands holding mine
Ah ah ah ah
I moved mine up your sides
Ah ah ah

I won’t be scared at all, I’ll be the first one to call and sign up to be your pallbearer.
I’ll keep my head up tall, trust your body won’t fall. You’ll find me up in the front right corner.
I kept a straight face for years, I even found you in tears, and now I’ll be the best gravedigger.
And bury me please, because it should have been me, I’ll dig six feet in an hour.

We positioned ourselves accordingly / to every single word that we’ve read.
And I imagine you with concentration, I’m constantly awaiting your voice.
It took a whole day one time, just to say good-bye, I still remember what was said.
If the coffin was open, I’d have you taken, without making a noise.

My hands ran through your hair
Ah ah ah ah
It was like you were there
Ah ah ah ah------

These arms are yours, your eyes are mine
These eyes are yours, your arms are mine

I won’t be scared at all, I’ll be the first one to call and sign up to be your pallbearer.
I’ll keep my head up tall, and never let you fall. You’ll find me up in the front right corner.
I kept a straight face for years, I even found you in tears, and now I’ll be the best gravedigger.
And bury me please, because it should have been me, I’ll dig six feet in an hour.

Don't Start to Panic

Written By: the stragglers

I’ll put my neck out on the line
Don’t let our troubles come to mind
And don’t start to panic
Cause I can fix it every time

We got fair warning from the signs (I’d describe it incredible)
Our goals were set the end in sight (Or I’d use the word beautiful)
We started drinking
I started thinking about life

Don’t back out now we’ve been through this (I’m aching, it’s making me…)
We’re making tracks in history (I’m shaking, it’s taking me)

We hung around past closing time (I think we’re all invincible)
Another round for these friends of mine (It’s like we’re indestructible)
We started smoking
You kept on joking through the night

Our secret’s safe in this city (Please don’t pry it’s not personal)
We prefer it kept a mystery (I’m afraid it’s not optional)
And please excuse me
I’m leaving reality tonight.

Don’t back out now we’ve been through this (I’m aching, it’s making me…)
We’re making tracks in history (I’m shaking, it’s taking me)

Just take your glass and raise it high
Here’s a toast to you for getting us by

I’m doing all I can to keep up the pace
And I’m glad you’re you for fixing our mistakes
Just rest your head and we’ll get you home
I know it’s late but I can’t drink alone

I’ll put my neck out on the line (I think we’re all invincible)
Don’t let our troubles come to mind (It’s like we’re indestructible)
And don’t start to panic
Cause I can fix it every time

Just take your glass and raise it high
Here’s a toast to you for getting us by
The sun’s coming up it’s all part of the plan
We have gills and a will and we’ll do it all again.

Harlot

Written By: the stragglers

You can cry
I've been dehydrated for weeks
I'll drink you dry
And scrap away the taste with my teeth

Go and try
You can't plug all of their ears
Or hide my eyes
I'll say what they all want to hear

don't ask me why
I take the long road home
A thousand times
that's my smell you should know

Ofcourse I know why I came home so early tonight
I hope to find the house burned down by candle light

This bottles's bottled up this champagne isn't your kind
Cause I know that you looked differently at me that night

You can cry
I've been dehydrated for weeks
I'll drink you dry
And scrap away the taste with my teeth

Go and try
You can't plug all of their ears
Or hide my eyes
I'll say what they all want to hear

don't ask me why
I take the long road home
A thousand times
that's my smell you should know

Ofcourse I know why I came home so early tonight
I hope to find the house burned down by candle light

This bottles's bottled up this champagne isn't your kind
Cause I know that you looked differently at me that night

Your accusations are giving you away
I use them all for lyrics and I'll keep it that way
This is my stage and I swear that this is my scene
And I'm singing so the queen will fall in love with me

You're still a harlot in my eyes
You're still a harlot in my eyes
