The Strobez

The Strobez first started playing together when they coincidentally formed the rythmn section of Europe´s largest indoor christmas circus, the Kerstzirkus Ahoy in 2005, playing Netherland´s biggest hall, the Ahoy in Rotterdam. Marko and Philipp have studied together at the conservatory in Mannheim and Marko and Michael have played some gigs together in various Rock and Blues lineups. All three band members have a lot of live and studio experience touring the world and having been sought after session musicians for the last eight to ten years.

In August 2006 Michael recorded his debut album „Think“ in Stuttgart, booking Phil and Marko to be his band for the recording. Although Michael wrote all the songs and the lyrics the result was a band performance, The Strobez were born. The album was released early in 2007 under the name „Michael Strobel“ yet the band was from then on called The Strobez.

The Strobez have played around 40 concerts in 2007, mostly club gigs and open airs in Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands and England presenting their original material.

The songs are influenced by the likes of ZZ Top, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Lukather, Audioslave and Gov´t Mule. Lyrically Michael likes to tell stories about his life painting political or personal pictures, singing about how he sees the world or how he would want it to be.
