The Summertime Whisky Band is a funk-rock-blues band from the Asheville area that makes any bar or party get up on its feet. The Band combines elements of funk, rock, blues, jam, fusion and jazz to create quite an eclectic night of music.

Biography

The Summertime Whisky Band has been playing together since the summer of 2006 (hence the name). They began playing parties around the WCU area by fall, and by 2007 they were playing at local area bars like Big Rick's, Guadalupe's Cafe, O'Malley's, JD's, Annie's. In July 2008, The Whisky Band completed their first tour of the North Carolina Coast. And, recently they have recorded and released their first full length album, The Forgotten Funk. Influences of their's include James Brown, Bootsy Collins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, The Doors, Parliament Funkadelic. The Summertime Whisky Band is the only high energy funk band around right now. So, if you are looking for a unique spunky band for your bar or night club, this is the band for you!
