Bio

The story goes back to 1999, when they were still four: Jero Romero (voice), Miguel de Lucas (bass), Carlos Pinto (drums) and Fausto Pérez (guitar) ... until two years later Julián Maeso (Keyboard) joined the band. The record Company, Rock Indiana, stated their interest in them and edited their first album from which, their first single “Time, Time, Time”, was used in several advertising campaigns such as Castilla - La Mancha Tourism and Castilla - La Mancha Savings Bank.
After signing up with December Productions, they started participating in several music Festivals (Lemonpop, Espárrago…), were finalists in Villa de Bilbao and surprised media and public with their performance in the International Festival of Benicàssim (FIB Heineken) in 2003.
As expected, they were already working on a new album, and “Little Heart Attacks” was finally out in June of 2004 with the new addition to the band; Lyndon Parish (Keyboard and Guitar).
This album’s tour became intense from the moment they visited several Festivals and were, again, invited to play in the International Festival of Benicàssim.
As their fame increased, more dates fell into their calendars and were soon the main names in festivals such as Metrorock, Sonorama, Contempopránea and international ones such as Les Transmusicales de Rennes (France), where they were chosen by critics as one of the best five concerts.
This became the great leap outside pur frontiers leading to the publication of their Cd in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Greece, etc. and leading to their participation in French Festivals such as Vieilles Charrues, Rock in Seine, Les Mediterranées, ArtRock, Eurockeenes, besides other European Festivals such as Nuits de Botanique (Brussels), Eurosonic (Groningen), Rockwave (Athens), Popkomm (Berlín), Spot (Denmarc), Chant Du Gros (Switzerland), besides ending up in a tour with 11 dates in France and 25 in Spain among which they ended up playing with artists such as Wilco and Paul Weller during their visit to Spain.
The single “On my Mind” became an International hit and was used for the soundtrack in Hollywood’s movie Penélope and a Spanish movie El juego de la verdad. Resulting in the sale of 30.000 Cd’s in Europe winning the Impala Award in sales (2006).
In 2007 they started a new project with “Tiny Telephone”. The 10 songs were recorded in San Francisco under Brad Jones’ supervision (Josh Rouse, Bobby Bare Jr.). “Tiny Telephone” was published by Naïve in France and distributed in Germany, Belgium, Holland and Switzerland.
Their desired return became evident during the concerts they offered in festivals such as Bilbao Live, Summercase, Sonorama, Greenspace… their extensive tour in France and Switzerland and especially in different Spanish cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Santiago, Seville, Valencia… where they sold out. “Tiny Telephone” was the Cd that sold the most in Fnac during their first week out and “Paranoid” soon became the number one song in iTunes France (2.5.2007).
The first single “Do It” was an international success which led to its appearance in television (Buenafuente, No Disparen al Pianista) and TV Shows (such as Cuestión de Sexo, etc), or TV advertisements. (Cruzcampo Light) .
Currently, The Sunday Drivers have recently edited (June 15th ’09) their frouth album, “The End of Maiden Trip”, recorded in the Red Led Studios in Madrid with José María Rosillo as producer. The Cd is already being praised by media and public. The Sunday Drivers have already been a part of the program un “El Día de la Música”, Plaza Mayor de Salamanca, Festival Sonorama, Estadio Olímpico de Barcelona (with Coldplay) and their tour has just started!
