Bio

Acoustic and electric original band The Sunrise has released our second album, We Have Not Heard, which features guitar legend Phil Keaggy and drummer Joe Vitale (Crosby Stills Nash Young, Joe Walsh).

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Chris Hillman of The Byrds remarks: "Sweet, melodic and moving, just a few words to describe The Sunrise band. The joy of music lives in our hearts and souls, one of many gifts bestowed by our Lord and so beautifully conveyed by The Sunrise."

CCM Magazine has included a free download of The Sunrise Christmas song titled "Thank You Christmas" in their Dec 2012 issue.

The Nov/Dec 2012 physical & on-line issue of Christian Musician Magazine has a very positive album review of The Sunrise CD "We Have Not Heard" and put The Sunrise band name on the front cover!

The Sunrise 2012 album "We Have Not Heard" has received a FOUR STAR album review in the Sept. 2012 issue of CCM Magazine.

"We Have Not Heard" received an A- grade by AlphaOmegaNews.org and they exclaimed "Holy Revival!"

The Gospel Music Channel gmcTV.com said "We Have Not Heard, Is a title we are truly excited about."

The Sunrise's sound has been compared to 'a Christian Wilco' and the White Stripes by Jesusfreakhideout.com; while our songwriting has been compared to '70's Paul McCartney, Seals & Crofts, Don McLean and Todd Rundgren by Goldmine Magazine.

Christianity Today Magazine called The Sunrise's debut album, Spread The Word, "a fine album with pointed lyrics addressing romantic love, social justice, pride, emotional abuse, spiritual transformation and even an altar call."

Interestingly, The Plain Dealer in Cleveland said, "the band sounds like Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young and Jesus."

This would prove to be an astute foresight, as we are blessed to have CSN&Y drummer Joe Vitale as a special guest on the title track of our second album, We Have Not Heard.

In addition, the amazing guitar work of Phil Keaggy graces the first three tracks of our sophomore release: We Have Not Heard, Judgement Day, and Like The Sunrise.
