"The Sure Shot Hunters. Thursday October 21, 2004"

It was a night of blues and roots last night. The Sure Shot Hunters started off the night with a set of funky reggae tinged songs. The trio locked together well but seemed like just another band until they performed homage to the Fender Strat and then the lead singer (Zevon Hiltz) sat down and played slide guitar a la John Butler. The song was an absolute highlight, the passion in playing and singing burning bright. The drums played with fluidity and groove, matching the guitar. The five string bass was snapping away. Real highlight. Check em out!! - Neil Wedd.

"The Sure Shot Hunters, Wednesday February 9, 2005"

The Sure Shot Hunters managed to get on stage on time and proceeded to play a very good set. They structured the set well, starting out with some reggae songs and then moving along to finish up with a couple of wicked slide guitar romps. The playing was much tighter than last time and the confidence of the members in each other seemed high. The playing was tight but fluid, as roots bands should be. It felt good and made you want to groove. Again the finish with the slide guitar was awesome. The band were having fun, slide guitar soloing, the bass player responding and the drummer, keeping it on track. The solos were fantastic, running up and down the fret board, testing out the limits. You want more, more, more. - Neil Wedd.

"THE SURE SHOT HUNTERS Review:: The Tote 23/11/05"

Funky, groovy, catchy and cool. Local identity ZEVON HILTZ guitar, vox and whatever else he can get his hands on joins ALE K ADAMS on drums (what’s left of them) plus NICK DELANEY on bass. This trio forms a mass of reggae, funk, rock, blues fusion with a touch of Santana and Motley Crew thrown in the stage show. The act is extremely entertaining and infectious that will leave you toe tapping to start of with, and basically feeling good about yourself. The Sure Shot Hunters put on a musical extravaganza at the Tote and are not to be missed, if you’re in prison breakout to catch them.

Bio

TSSH were formed in 2002 by Guitarist/ Vocal Zevon Hiltz. Joining TSSH at the end of 2004 virtuoso Nick Delaney on Bass guitar finally completed the line up along with Ale K Adams on drums who has been w the band since 2002. Our influences are quite similar with all members, including Hendrix, Freddie King, Buddy Guy, Ernest Raglin, SRV, R.A.T.M, the Mars Volta and Robert Randolph to name a few. We have a good following at home and are looking to expand in the near future. We are currently independant and our sound is predominately a combination of Blues Rock Soul and Reggae music. We definatley turn heads at gigs with our exciting original sound and stage performances. Our most recent highlight would have to be the last St.kilda Festival in Melbourne Australia in Feb 2005, where we set up on the side of the road outside a friends apartment, after a real festival style 1hr set was dished up to the 1000 strong punters the police shut it down...Free Festival??????? we will be back in 2007.....
We are definately set apart from other bands, our sound is dominated by a contemporary style of blues which not many bands get into and our music will evolve and develop in the coming years. Thats our story so far........
